Tuningworld Bodensee 2009
Premiere Part II
The EMMA Kick Off 2009 at the Tuning World Bodensee

107,500 Tuning Fans from all over Europe traveled to Friedrichshafen! The seventh edition of TUNING WORLD BODENSEE showcased the wide range of possibilities offered by vehicle modification. 220 exhibitors revealed thrilling products and the latest trends how to do this and a community of 154 Tuning Clubs showed up with an impressive diversity of custom made excitement on four wheels.
This awesomely nice event gave a perfect scenery for EMMA’s 2009 International Competition Kick Off. Two weeks after EMMA’s revised performance at the Car + Sound show in Cologne, one of the major annual EMMA events was launched at a new location: the 2009 International Season Kick Off was carried out at the Tuning World Bodensee. Besides the advantage to address the fascination of Mobile Entertainment and great Mobile Sound Systems to more than 100 000 people visiting the Tuning World event, EMMA also benefited from the fact that Tuning Aficionados are easily to enthuse for everything making their babies on four wheels more unique and attractive.
Amongst those more than 1000 superbly styled Tuningcars, the EMMA Sound Off season start had its perfect stage: It was quantitatively on a smaller scale than it was while held in Sinsheim. But that didn’t mean that quality was missing. Participants from a total of 8 nations - even from Turkey - traveled with their sound-filled vehicles to Friedrichshafen. Also a number of enthusiastic newcomers with masterful combinations of sound, show and shine arrived to take a first winning-chance. They gave not only an impressive performance of their skills to the jury but also to the exhibition audience!
Due to the fact that it was the first time use of the new competition CD in a Sound Off, a slight tension among the participants could be realized here and there. For the international jury team it also was a premiere to use the new CD - a challenge which was superiorly mastered by all judges. Also the modifications on the installation rules led to no major problems.
A real magnet to visitors and to the sound & tuning community was again the great show around the Truck of main sponsor Pioneer. DJ Maui and Gernot Grabosch alias Dr. Chatter again gave a nice provocative-entertaining show to the audience and attracted them to join some fun activities like Subwoofer-Lifting, T-Shirt-Swapping etcetera. Also the ESPL measurements were explained and entertainingly commended to the audience by the two show masters Maui and Gernot.
But not only the Pioneer Truck, also the vehicles of the Pioneer team gained a lot of attention - especially since some of the 2008 European Champions were present. Other highlights in hall B4 were the joint booth of the EMMA partners Audio Design, DLS, Digital Designs and German Maestro, which for the first time presented their products and innovative ideas from the world of mobile sound and entertainment in cooperation with EMMA. Particularly interesting was the live installation in a Ford truck which was loaded with an awesome Hifonics Sound System, damped with the professional damping material of Standartplast and equipped with monitors from Axion.
The competition was smaller than in recent years was the case, but on a very quality high level. Some recent European champions were on the spot and even more international flair was offered: Participants from Turkey, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia and France and raised the competitor’s as well as the visitor’s appetite for a little "Sound Off - tourism" into neighboring countries.
Especially the Turks, who first time participated in an EMMA competition, came up as one of the Show King when competitor Murat’s BMW landed on second place. The new CD was been consistently well established, as sound Head Judge Norbert Tyka confirmed. Also, the adjustments to the installation rules had the acceptance of the complete Judge Team.
