Danish Dynamite
Wow! A show like it should be and a party on highest level combined with
the coolest people and cars from Europe. That is the conclusion to be
done about the 2007 Eurofinals in Herning/Denmark. In the end of October
EMMA invited the best of their nations to participate on the final challenge
in skandinavias southest part, the city of Herning in Denmark, and 223
from 24 Nations came. At the
"Messecenter" the biggest car exhibition of North Europe
took place and EMMA was a major part of the show. With three Halls and
more
then
200 cars
the EMMA participants and the sponsors presented the highest level of
car entertainment in practise ever seen in the world. The main sponsors
Pioneer, DLS and Alpine even had a couple of extreme installations to
show off on their beautiful Team Areas. On more than 16 000 square meters
EMMA organised all formatsand even the slalom in the racing section could
have been done indoor inside the Arena.
Already on Wednesday noon the registration started and the first cars
were allowed to enter the competition halls. The fairground company even
organised a couple of high pressure watercleaners free of charge for
the cleaning of the vehicles which had long distances to drive. The
registration procedure lasted until Thursday evening and in the meantime
the head judges arranged intensive briefings with the judges to prepare
them for the hard challenge of judging the best of the best. in some
categories it was neccessary to send two judge teams paralell becasue
of having
more than 25 participants. The best three
cars the two groupswere judged the next day by an additional team.
Friday morning was the day of the truth and everybody was nervous. After
the briefing the judges started immediately to listen the cars and look
at their installations. The Experienced, Advanced and the ESPL
competitors were the ones to compete. First time the whole ESPL measurement
was done with a Computer based system from Ground Zero and it was done
in Hall B which is an Arena used
for
concerts
so
plenty of space was available for the participants and also their enormous
noise level didn´t effect the SQ and Multi Media in the other locations.
For the ESPL cars it was the qualification for the final which took place
on sunday at the same place. In Denmark the shows open very long on thursday
and Friday so the EMMA teams didn´t have to hurry up and were able to
do a very precise judgement to all cars.
Saturday morning the Master and Experts were scheduled to be in competition.
A lot of the "old" guys found the way again to the Euros and
so it was not astonishing that the distance between the top installations
was not
big. In the end everything was done until 19:00 in the evening and all
guests, sponsors and of course the participants could take the bus to
Crazy Daisy where the official EMMA Party was. The Discothek arranged
a hughe buffet with local specialities to feed up their guest and this
time there was no cheese on it according to the advise given before by
Party organiser Peter Fuhrmann. In addition it was arranged before to
have enough of the offical EMMA drink "Weissbeer". When the
exlusivity ended at 23:00 and the regular guests were allowed
to
come in, the
Disco
was cooking
already and only happy faces have been seen. Also the birthday of Henrik
Jorgenson, one of the organisers of EMMA Denmark was taking care that
hard drinks didn´t stop to be available. On Sunday morning some
faces didn´t look that happy like the night before but everyone
was talking about a great party.
On Sunday the best cars from the previous judgings have been judged again
and with a delay of 40 minutes the ceremony started on the main stage.
With around two hours it had almost the same lenghth like last Year in
Bern but because of the great job the team did this time there were more
happy faces to see even from not winners. As conclusion it is to say
that a couple of more nations come closer together in the quality of
their Sound and SPL Systems. In the former finals always team Germany
was far away from the rest in numbers of trophies but this time things
changed much, so congratulations to all and thanks to Astrid from Messe
Herning, Henrik Larsen from EMMA Denmark and Carel Wolf for arranging
all that Datas. A second thank goes to the Head Judges Alex Milyavski/Russia,
Reinier Wolf/Netherlands, Wim Corten/Belgium and Alex Mühling/Germany
as well as to the event director Roger Edvinsson from Sweden.
So thanks to all for that great event and see you next Year somwhere
else in Europe
