First competition of EMMA Ukraine

On Friday the 27th of June the new EMMA Ukraine started the season with the first competition in the city of Lviv in Ukrainias west territory. At the local expo centre competitors from Moldavia, Belarus, Russia, Latvia and Lithuania completed the group of national competitors to an amount of more than 60 cars.

Head Judge Sergey Teplyuk was very happy to have a strong judge team to take the challenge of judging everything within one day. The day before a judge training was arranged to have the best knowledge of the rules and later the teams were setup so that there was no major delay at the beginning. The great back office girls did the best to manage to get the certificates ready for the ceremony in the evening. The main Sponsor Focal was arranging a great stage for the program which was moderated by a special presenter who had lots of action to announce. Dancing girls performed an amazing show, interviews were given, traditional folk dancers and singing kisd and of course the ESPL measurement was done on the stage where EMMA Ukraine built a ramp to make the cars better visible for the audience.

As a result of the long tradition of the car audio scene the level of the competitors was very good and some were talking to come and join the Eurofinals in October. Like always in east Europe there have been some real great old cars which were renovated in a very professional way. Ladas and Wolga Limosines perfect in design and great in sound. Hopefully they will once also come to be presented in western Europe. Organiser and EMMA Ukraine Boss Evgeny Kostenko was very nervous the whole day because the new team had no expereince so far. But when the ceremony was finished after the perfomance of a great Blues Band with international format he calmed down. Finally the evening was finished with a dinner of all EMMA Ukraine Team and the obligatory vodka session in the end.

This event is the basement for the future reconstruction of EMMA in Ukraine and the Team showed the will and the capacity to do it.
