The 2012 Eurofinals will take place at the Automesse Salzburg/Austria from March 22 to March 24 2013. The frame of this most important car audio competition is a car and vehicle exhibition showing up all new car models and car lifestyle accessories. The chosen place Salzburg is easy to reach by plane via Frankfurt or Vienna as well as by train and car due to it´s central position in Europe. The Judge team will be selected out of the participants of the head judge training which will be organized prior to the Finals.

Due the challenge to find a perfect location to host the German Finals EMMA Germany decided to organize the show around the Headquarter in Neumarkt. It sure was a bit adventurous to hold the final as an open air event in October - but the weather was just as amazingly fantastic as the job done by the judges. Starting at 10°° in the morning and completed at 17°° in the afternoon all 90 competitors were conscientiously judged. This fantastic job was done with the support of some Austrian friends who attended the German Nationals together with some of their competitors. The average level of the competitor´s cars was as expected high but in the end a couple surprises came out. Some of the season’s leading cars didn´t win the mastership title while other competitors tuned their sound systems to perfection prior to the Finals. In the end the best cars were winning and due to the fast judging progress lots of time was available to sound check all the fantastic cars. Furthermore it left space for starting the Party early in a cool location which was formally an old fabric building but is nowadays host of an elegant Italian Restaurant. EMMA rented the whole building for the almost 200 guests and organized a great party with an emotional ceremony in the end. In any way we can state out that EMMA´s season in Germany was a good one with a nice and cozy final in the end. Now all start to work for the Euros in March in Salzburg/Austria.

The final meeting of the Russian Championship was held from 8th-9th September in Volgograd. Top class sound cars from the Ural Region, from South and Central Russia as well as from Ukraine met to determine the winners of this season. Unfortunately, because of the great distances in this huge the country and the road quality of, the competitors from Siberia and the Far East were not able to attend this event. However, in the pavilion and outdoor area Volgograd Expo gathered 78 cars.
Almost every competitor arrived very well prepared so it was no surprise that sometimes it was only half a point which made the difference between champion and vice champion. In such conditions, the judges had to bear a huge burden, so the organizing team invited the best judges from EMMA Russia, as well as Head Judges from EMMA Europe, such as EMMA ESPL judge Ronald van Looij from Holland. And after two days of nervous tension, disputes with judges on assessments, frustrations and hopes, the winners were declared!
As a result, the best are:
Best of Sound 2012 - Victor Shkendel, company Car Stereo, Team Pioneer, Mr. Stavropol
Best of Multimedia 2012 - Dmitry Chepurnyak, the company Faborus, Sochi
Bets of ESPL 2012 - Andrew Belih, Company D Style Audio, Team Sondown Russia, Moscow with a score of 153.8 dB.

On August 25 and 26 the first Russian/Ukrainian event took place in Kramatorsk/Ukraine. This traditional weekend is the Independence day of the Ukraine and so even the major declared the competition for open. The whole organization was managed by EMMA Russia with the support of Boris Tishchenko, intl. Head Judge and multiple Car Audio Champion. 68 cars from Belarus, Ukraine and Russia participated and the Major of Kramatorsk, Gennady Kostyukov, was impressed by the perfect installations and the clear sound reproduction, even on very loud volume. The hottest fights have been with the Master categories and the distance was very tight in between the participants. In addition to the SQ also EMMA Racing and ESPL were offered and attracted the audience. Durinmg the ceremony the winners recieved high quality presents from the Sponsors of the event. A great step into a better international corporation of the former USSR States to support the growth of the mobile media scene.

Various mobile media solutions are offered as original equipment from the car manufacturer. This looks promising - at least at first glance. On June 18 EMMA Taiwan was formally launched at an international Judge Seminar in Taipeh. The target of EMMA Taiwan is to organize already the first event in 2012 to send participants to the Asian Finals. A team of international Head Judges supported the seminar where more than 60 judges have been educated in two days.

After the success achieved in previous editions, the Tuningparty will perform in the coming days 6,7 and 8 July to Santarém and Tuningparty International Motorshow 2012 Car Audio in CNEMA, National Exhibition Centre Santarém, Portugal.

Since 12 years this event has been a real tradition – The Xplus1 Show in Neumarkt. Also this year Peter Fuhrmann is going to invite all EMMA competitors to the Sound Off around his Car Media Shop. The Xplus1 Show is growing continuously year by year and not only German competitors like this cosy event. Since years also competitors and judges from Denmark, Austria and Italy are visiting this amazing event to meet and greet their friends. After the competition ends on Saturday evening with a nice ceremony, the big Install garage of Xplus1 is going to change in a real EMMA Style party location with DJ, nice food, vodka, drinks, cocktail’s and of course a dance floor for all the Party people.

Even with the rainy weather the first seasonal event in Kazakhstan´s capital Almaty was a great show. All around cars and of course the National EMMA Kick collected thousands of visitors to attend the event organized around a big shopping mall. Several car challenges like wheel changing, Drift and EMMA Racing entertained the audience during the day. Also Cheerleaders danced over the place and finally at the ceremony all participants received the trophies for the great job done on their vehicles.

Emma china's 2012 competitor training attracted near to 60 attendees, with trainer from Emma Asia supporting this 3 days event from 9-11 June in Guangzhou Yun shan hotel. The latest updates to the rules and use of the competition disc have been trained and now EMMA China will start the season with a bunch of events

Digital, smart(phone), creative and utmost musical! The EMMA competitors on this year’s AMICOM were not only enjoying a great Sound Off but also the opportunity to visit one of the world’s biggest exhibition fair combination presenting all facets of automotive pleasure and comfort. With more than 90 000 visitors on the first two days the AMICOM/AMITEC/AMI fair trio again turned out as a magnet to consumers as well as to professionals from the automotive business. And there’s still seven more days left to explore the fascination of mobility! Digital Broadcasting on the road, applications for (legal) Smartphone-use in cars and connectivity of car infotainment devices were key subjects at AMICOM 2012.

Perfect weather, a lot of amazing cars and a great atmosphere were the most important attributes of the Rockford Fosgate Tuning Day in Karlsruhe organized by the “Tuning Scene Karlsruhe” and Audio Design, the European distribution of the premium brands Rockford Fosgate, Hifonics, JL Audio, MB Quart and more. At a well known shopping mall direct at the Motorway A 6 in Karlsruhe, 1000 Tuning Fans showed off their brilliant tuned Cars and inspired round about 10.000 visitors. Also EMMA was in the middle of the action-area with over 30 SQ competitors who wanted to know how good their cars actually sound. Already the 3rd time the Rockford Fosgate Tuning Day Karlsruhe took place and it gets bigger and bigger every year with more international participants from France, Italy, Switzerland and Austria. We are already looking forward to next Rockford Fosgate Tuning day 2013. Thanks to Tuning Scene Karlsruhe and Audio Design for making this great Day possible!

Already the second time the Austrian Kick Off took place at the Burger King in Linz. 48 competitors came for this first event and this was just too much for the restaurant´s parking lot. So some neighborhood space from companies was also used for the competition. Beside the amount of participants the most remarkable experience was that the new ESPL Tracks have extreme low frequencies as some of the ESPL competitors could see on their damaged Equipment. The judge Team was always in time and no car was taking longer than 30 minutes to be judged. It was just a great day and special thanks to Ali from Burger King for supporting EMMA Austria. The event ended with the ceremony punctual at 17°° so everything was just perfect.

First time in South America an EMMA competition took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil. To guarantee absolute fairness EMMA Brazil invited three European Head Judges to support the event. Ketil from Norway, Costas from Greece and Ivan from Italy helped the Brazilian Judge Team to manage the judging procedure in time and gave many comments based on their experience. The feedback was very welcome and the Europeans showed themselves impressed about the professional level of the competition cars. EMMA Brazil has already an enormous potential for SQ and ESPL competitions, as the over 50 cars showed on this starting event. The location was a famous race track in Sao Paulo with a perfect infrastructure for such an event. A perfect start into a new age of competition.

For several years, Moscow has not carried out events of the national Russian EMMA championship, but this year in the last days of April the season opening took place at the exhibition "Tuning Show" at the international exhibition center Crocus Expo. A total of 85 competitors came to sort out the best in the categories SQ, ESPL, EMMA Racing and Art, a special car painting competition managed by EMMA Russia, Even some participants from Belarus and Finland came for this Kick Off event which was supported by many Sponsors from the Car Infotainment Industry. This exhibition was very good start into the season and a perfect example for the next events. Special thanks to the sponsors for their support EMMA Russia and the Crocus Expo exhibition center in person of Elena Guskova and Dmitry Uspenskij.

A new member at the Black Sea signed the EMMA Affiliation contract at the Head Judge seminar 2012. Viktor Buachidze is on the way to establish an EMMA Organization at the beautiful Country of Georgia to start with Car Audio Competition soon. Already many contacts have been made to the neighbors from Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan and they confirmed to support EMMA Georgia. Also all Industry Partners who would like to develop their business there have now a direct contact person available. EMMA Georgia is now a member of the Family and we wish them a successful season.

Already the 12th time EMMA invited the international friends to participate on the training for their Head Judges. Never so big before this Year´s seminar was the best so far in terms of network and community. All who went home took a real good feeling with them because the future doesn´t look bad at all. EMMA in Asia is still growing and on a conference a proper solution was found how to establish EMMA Asia finally and support the growth there. America and Africa were happy to attend and took many new ideas back home. Even the Europeans start to look more positive into the future because of recognizing that there is still potential in the Car Entertainment markets.
The main theme of the training of course was the updated rulebook and the new CD. And whenever something new is to be launched many questions came up about it. Most of them were answered by Alex Pleines, the EMMA CD´s mixing engineer who spent a whole day to be available for explanations and detailed information about the material on that CD. Most of the time has been spent with intensive practical training on 10 different cars representing all the different EMMA formats. Throughout these practical lessons all questions could be answered and the new Head Judges are now able to organize the according trainings in their Countries.
This Year the common Party in the Old Mill was just amazing. Such a spirit is absolute unique and even when the bus had a engine break on the way back to the Hotel, many people will remember this to have been a Party never experienced before.
In total there have been 78 participants from 31 Nations, so in fact it was the biggest Head Judge seminar ever and it shows the great strength of the EMMA Network. Now the season can come.

This Year´s international Kick Off will take part at the biggest springtime Tuning Exhibition in Friedrichshafen/ Germany. The Tuningworld is a Mega tuning event with over 100 k visitors in four days and EMMA is a part of show. All the new categories will be offered and as it is an international competition all Qualification points in the country of origin and in Germany .

EMMA arranged a special package for all participants: In the fee of 20 Euro per category a four days ticket for the Tuningworld is included. For those who don´t want to stay the complete four days we spitted the competition in two sections.

Sunday and Monday is the time for Master and Expert cars. Monday and Tuesday the Experienced and Advanced cars as well as the ESPL and Racing competitors are on the raw. The ceremony is planned for Tuesday, May 1 at 15°°.

Great start for the italian season with the EMMA Kick Off 2012, held last 25th of March at the race track Vallelunga close to Roma, over 500 cars between race and exposition and over 5000 visitors, for a great season start. The synergy between EMMA and the car/tuning magazine ELABORARE has helped make this show a unique and beautiful day, disturbed only by a late afternoon rain that slowed down the judgments of the cars, but not stopped, thanks to a fantastic team of judges who dedicated himself even in the pouring rain.

During the day many car enthusiasts have crowded the beautiful cars on display, including a fabulous Mercedes C63 AMG that made us dream a thrilling spectacle of drifting under the rain.
And what about the fabulous Porsche, Ferrari and Lotus on the track! Just dream cars!

About the racing in EMMA, in the tuning has been presented many novices that have presented stunning new cars.
In the sound quality, aided by the new rule book and CD, we have seen new and old friends that have raced until the last point to excel in their classes, laying the groundwork for growth and improvement that is expected during the year for those who want to be at the top at the end of the season in the European final.

In the ESPL a lot of new cars fought until the last db and the new italian format, airtrick, has captured the public in the challenge to keep flying a bag of nylon over the car as long as possible with just the power of the db! PURE FUN! That along with the sexy car wash girls that have warmed the people beyond belief!

This Year´s season start in Mexico will be a highlight. In connection with the Midnight EURO-EXPO 2012 in Durango Mexico, the EMMA affiliation reaches a new level. The new EMMA competition disc, as well as the new Rulebook, is available now at the EMMA online shop. Like in the previous Versions is also the sixth Edition of the Disc is not overly compressed to keep the dynamics alive. Also, no sound sweeteners were used to keep the sound as close as possible according to the original, except the ESPL tracks which are also included in this disc now. Furthermore a included booklet describes all necessary backgrounds to the recordings.

Industry partners support EMMA Academy with new high-end demo system

Right in time for the release of the current EMMA competition CD 2012 a brand new high end sound system has been inaugurated at the EMMA Academy training room. The purpose of the new stereo sound system is the demonstration of sonic details and characteristics on the EMMA CD, which was specifically designed and produced to assess the quality of vehicle sound systems. All components were explicitly selected in order to gain utmost impressive listening experience. The system will be used for training purposes at judge trainings, dealer and installer trainings as well as to conduct comparative tests of various products. The components for the sound system were provided by the EMMA industry partners Magnat, German Maestro and Tchernov Audio.

After the successful first Asian Finals in 2011 EMMA is gathering even more attention. Finally Harry Omae, a well established Japanese Manufacturer and Distributor signed the affiliation contract with EMMA. It is planned to start the first EMMA competitions in Japan in 2012. Harry Omae is now discovering the opportunities to build up a structure for EMMA Japan supported by all manufacturers and distributors in the Country. Harry Omae has been Rockford Fosgate distributor since 1991. He is also managing well known and regarded brands like JL Audio, MTX, Boston Acoustics, Image Dynamics, Audio Control, Vibe and is also in charge of his own brand U-Dimension. Furthermore the currently biggest Car audio event called “Car Audio Gallery” was established by Mr. Omae. Against this background EMMA Japan has the best opportunity to become a very successful and essential member of the international EMMA Family.

It began with a Vision
After rapid expansion of EMMA in Asian countries in the last 5 years, EMMA has contributed to Car Multimedia in more ways than any other organization has done before.  There are EMMA Affiliates in China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan and Vietnam. The challenge of organizing EMMA ASIA final is the geography and infrastructure of Asian countries.  Asia is not all connected by land, but there are islands far away from one another.  Those are connected by land still face problem of the condition of roads and Highway. The target was how to get cars from all countries to compete in EMMA ASIA final at an affordable cost. 
The decision was done to locate the EMMA ASIA final venue Hatyai a Southern City of Thailand or Kuala Lumpur or Singapore.  These are the 3 countries that have most numbers of EMMA competition cars. With all constrains and availabilities Singapore was selected to be the Grand venue. For the other countries, like Philippines and Indonesia the plan was to manage the competition locally but with the same judges who were flying over to judge cars ahead of time. So on Friday 9th. Of December 2011 all 12 EMMA judges flew in Jakarta Indonesia. The list of judges was the most skilled Asian guys from the participating Countries supported by two Europeans, and on Saturday 10th. December the first 23 cars have been evaluated in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Sunday 11th. The Team flew from Jakarta to Manila Philippines to judge another 21 cars on Monday 12th.   The following day another 14 cars have been judged in Dumaguete/Philippines. 
Over 50 cars have then been judged at the final location in Singapore on Dec 17 and 18. At 18.00 hr. everyone went in the pub call “Zuak Club” for the announcement of EMMA ASIA final score.  The participants flew in from the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand as well.  Also guests from China, Taiwan and Japan attended the ceremony to grab the idea for the upcoming Years.  The Announcing award in each category was filled with joy and cheer from all team and all countries. People are having lots of fun during this “Historical Event” in the Asian Car Audio History. The first step is done and now much more will follow because there is a proof that it is possible to get the people together and figure out the best available car entertainment in Asia and may be in the future it will be even a Global issue for EMMA

After weeks of discussion in between the international Head Judges, the new Classification for the Years 2012/2013 is decided now. It will be a new structure compared to the previous Rulebook.

The new Master is comparable with the old Advance and the Expert with the old Master. The reason behind that is the fact that EMMA would like to open space for newcomers in the new Experienced which is fully price limited and the new Advanced. Additionally the new OEM Master will be established as a trial for full stock Installations.

In ESPL are also some major changes in the structure which is now only divided by the location of the Installation. On National level some additional categories will be available as format. The final version is supposed to be ready before Christmas.

The new CD which includes the SQ and ESPL tracks will be available in February 2012.

For EMMA Racing the details are not decided yet but we will have at least two categories in that format in 2012.

The European Mobile Media Association is delighted to welcome a new member within the international EMMA alliance. After a first face to face encounter at the EMMA Eurofinals 2011 in Nuremberg the delegation of Brazilian car audio distributors and enthusiasts resolved to sign a co-operation contract with EMMA. As a next step – and also to demonstrate their intentness – it is planned to send participants to the international Head Judge Seminar in South-Germany end of March 2012 in order to initiate a Judge training in Sao Paulo later on. Gilberto Medina, Distributor of DLS in Brazil has already started to host several internal competitions using the rules of EMMA. Due to their success it was a clear decision to take a next step and start a real organization for EMMA, supported by the Manufacturers and Distributors. EMMA is proud and highly motivated to put best possible effort into the growing global network.
