Showdown No. 10 – The EMMA Eurofinals 2010
Bottom line first: this event has proven once more that spontaneity and inventiveness is undoubtedly a major talent of the EMMA organization. Even if EMMA is now looking back on 10 years Sound Off and European Championship history as well as on extended experience in proclaiming the thrill of car audio. It’s still the unexpected elements of show and party activities that give each EMMA competition the real kick. So it was this year when the national organizations and their sound off competitors got together in order to share an ultimately fun-filled week end at the international Eurofinals.
A wise choice of EMMA’s host Ahoy Rotterdam with its 100% tuning show was the decision to again provide the competition halls from Thursday. So the EMMA community’s most important annual event could be held in a relaxed and quiet atmosphere. With 210 participating national champions and vice champions from all over Europe, the EMMA Eurofinals are world's biggest Sound Offs.
A Judge team consisting of 32 judges from 28 nations had to test the international car media competition armada in the EMMA categories Sound Quality, Multi Media, ESPL and EMMA Racing. Time for relaxed discussions included - an advantage of the optimal timing "Two days work - two days show program, and relative calm in the competition area.
The EMMA competition halls became much busier on Saturday and Sunday when the huge crowd of ten thousands of visitors flocked into the 100% Tuning exhibition halls, the Audio Village and the EMMA area to see and hear what’s cooking in the Sound, Show & Shine scene. Product News, perfectly styled and carefully built show cars together with the best sound cars in Europe were waiting for a sound check to give proof Car Entertainment is definitely one of the most thrilling hobbies in the world.
A great opportunity to get some free basic car audio stuff was the tombola where EMMA together with their industry partners Pioneer, Clarion, German Maestro, Rockford Fosgate, DLS, ESX and Hifonics raffled off car media equipment worth several thousand Euros. All raffle participants had to select their favorite participating vehicle and to note in their subscription card. And the winner is ... the Mini DLS Revolution by Tommi & Sanna Heikkinen and Olli Finer!
Winners had also to be determined in a competition between various country presentations, where Germany came up with a little Oktoberfest, including draft beer, sausages and handmade folk music. The enthusiasm was huge, but definitely beaten by an exhilarating contingent of Italian culinary. At last, when the Parmacheese-delegation slammed their national anthem on the EMMA stage, the jury concluded Team Italy as the winner of the Country presentation competition. (Probably the jury had in mind that the price for their first place might be invested into the Italian buffet for the next European Championship).

on Sunday afternoon, applauded by a huge audience. As so often a huge
number of trophies remained in the host country, but also most of the
other nations took home a nice bunch of trophies. Congratulations to
